From nothing to one rocking video in 3 hours

By Tigo Linkenkaer-Hansen Oct 13, 2020

Freerunning is an interesting sport. The sport means something different to every freerunner. I know people who do it because they want to break mental or physical boundaries. Some people do it because they want to gain complete control over their body.

I freerun myself because it challenges me to look at obstacles differently than other people. I try different moves on walls or places than my friends. I am happy when I combine creative jumps with a lot of physical strength and control.

One of my freerunning friends called me in the morning and told me he had a three-hour break from school. He wondered what I was doing and if I could come over. At first I said no, but then I thought:

let's go freerunning! Then I take a camera with me and we see what we are going to film. We went to a freerunning spot and started doing some jumps. Then I started thinking about the different ways freerunners train and jump and thought it would be interesting to make a video showing how Beer trains. So I grabbed the camera and started filming Beer. I filmed him doing some jumps and thinking out loud, so you can see what kind of problems he encounters and how he solves them. I also filmed an interview so you can get to know him better.

This way I came up with an idea and filmed it within 3 hours. I think this is a good example that you shouldn't overthink everything and sometimes you just have to execute. If you have a moment, you can watch the video below.
