Who likes beautiful videos? Well, I certainly do. That's why I share one video with you every week that makes me warm.

You are about to witness the very exciting story of a city and its people…

Archive material is beautifully combined with contemporary images of dilapidated environments in Detroit. Now I think Detroit is a fascinating city anyway, because of the rich music history.

We mainly know American cities with the image of the New York skyline in our heads. This video highlights it from a different perspective: Changing America. Inspired by the Great Depression photographer Walker Evans. Old buildings are overgrown by nature. An image that we actually don't really know.

The archive material is very well incorporated, because the quality is quite poor compared to modern images. The combination of piano music, soft colors, contrast and beautiful images make for a beautiful piece of film.

As a bonus, a little musical education: one of the classics from Detroit.
